Hey dudes, the YF clan are getting up a team for a bit of TF2 on the competitive side !
The teams consiste of 6 people (plus a few extras). The classic team layout is:
- 1 Medic: One of the most important figures of the team, so therefor has to be quite skilled. - 1 Demo: The damage dealer. - 2 soldier: One, a "pocket" soldier that stays constantly with the medic, and one roamer "soldier" that try's to get behind enemie lines with accurat rocket jumps and flank the enemies. - 2 Scouts (or utillity classes): Flank, cap, pester, thats the sort of thing you will be doing and if by chance someone sceams down the mic that the medic is on his own you will not wast a second and take him out probalby changing the tide of battle towards us .
Ok thats just a taste of how competitve TF2 is played, for more in depth play you MUST read this if you are going to put your name down.
P.S: This goes without saying mic is esential, comunication is the key.

Ok so once all you guy's have read that tutoriel on competitive TF2 we need a way to comunicate !
I was thinking of Skype? The ingame vocal chat sucks so that is a definate NO.
Have you got any ideas? the best would be a vent serveur but we dont have one. So Skype is the only efficiant way i can think of to comunicate freely.
So if you guy's dont come up with any idea i want all of you in the Team to download skype and make an account once r team is definate i'll set up a few frendly matches against other teams.
Intil then we need to play as much as we can with one an other to know each others gameplay and how we work + get used to comunication.

Ok so i was on youtube looking for vids that could show a bit how it works. Note if you have not read every thing on the link in the 1st post do ont watch these.
K so this is a global vid of best bits in a TFLan set in New Zealand. Its quite good to see the fonctions of each class and how they play. Strat and all that.
This next one is manly for the medic of the team because there isnt many vids illustrating his play. But still watch this if your not going to be the medic.
this is from the demo point of view just to show quike it realy is. (Demo of the team take note ^^).
Here is the fastest ways for soldier (medic take not of his path, not to mention the soldiers know these by hart ^^)
A last vid just to get some more acction in there, lots of the scout so take note of his startigy ^^
